WE BELIEVE

 

The church of God is comprised of all individuals who have been “BORN OF AND ARE LIVING IN THE SPIRIT” (John 3 and Romans 7). The different denominations or more commonly called churches; have been established by men and have separated God’s people. Our message is in harmony with 1 Cor. 12:13, “By one Spirit we are baptized into one body.”  The church of God, with offices in Anderson, IN, in no way desires to imply that we are the only church, however we as a “Reformation Movement” desire to be exclusively a part of the only true church whose builder and founder is Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. (Matt 16:18)

 

Christ is the only door or way into the church. When any individual confesses and repents of their sins (Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:9); believes in Jesus as Savior (John 3:16); and receives God’s gift of eternal life (John 1:12); they are adopted into the family or church of God. (Acts 2:47)

 

We are thrilled to be a part of the family of God and we welcome fellow believers of all walks to fellowship and worship with us here at the First Church of God. If you are not yet a Christian we would love to introduce you to Jesus Christ and we will pray that you come to know Him as your personal Savior!

 

WE TEACH

 

The Holy Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative WORD OF GOD. (2 Tim 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21) There is One God, Creator of all things who has revealed Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matt 28:19)

 

God’s Son, Jesus was born of a virgin, died a sacrificial death for sinners on a cross, was buried for three days and nights, arose from the grave, and ascended to heaven where He reigns as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He has promised to return in the clouds at the last day, to resurrect the entire human race from the grave and transform those who are alive at His appearing from mortal to immortality. He will at same day separate His bride called the church from all who have refused His salvation that He may take His people home to dwell in a place called Heaven for all eternity.

 

We also acknowledge sanctifying power of God’s grace that purifies the nature of a believer. This wonderful grace is experienced when a Christian sacrifices their life to the God and is filled with the Holy Spirit. This act of grace empowers a Believer that they may use their spiritual gifts to carry out the will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)

 

WE LIVE

 

We live by the faith of the Son of God who gave His life for us. Our faith acknowledges that all healing comes from God. (Psalms 103:1-2) We also know that the church has been given a wonderful promise in scripture in which makes provision for Divine physical healing. We anoint with oil, symbolizing the Holy Spirit, and pray in our Great Physician’s name, Jesus, knowing that God can heal any disease. (James 5:13-18)

 

We live under a Divine mandate known as the “great commission, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” This mandate establishes our mission at the Fayetteville First Church of God, to “MAKE CHRIST KNOWN”. We desire to lift up the person of Jesus Christ that the entire world might know our Lord and our Savior!

 

We invite you to make this your place of Worship and we hope that you will become actively involved in service to the Master. It all begins when you give your heart and life to Jesus and we are here to show you the way to experience His wonderful salvation.
